This $13M project increased safety and added bike lanes and improved pavement on West Capitol Avenue. Rehabilitating nearly three miles of West Capitol Avenue from Jefferson Boulevard to Enterprise Boulevard at the Interstate 80 westbound interchange continuing on Jefferson Boulevard south to Park Boulevard. The project rehabilitated the pavement along the entire stretch with re-stripe vehicle lanes adding separate bicycle lanes, as well as additional lighting and enhanced mid-block pedestrian crossings. Traffic signals at two intersections were modified with underground infrastructure to accommodate a future fiber optic system. UNICO provided full construction management services, including resident engineering, inspection, labor compliance and document control.
