Link21 is a program that will transform Northern California’s passenger rail network into a faster, more integrated system. At its core is a new transbay passenger rail crossing between San Francisco and the East Bay. Additional projects will enhance and expand existing rail networks and improve connections between them. As a subconsultant, UNICO is supporting the integration of various workstreams in the Link21 Program to verify that efforts are aligned and coordinated. This integration of workstreams is key to minimizing costs and adhering to the schedule as the program progresses through the identification, definition, and management of interfaces between workstreams. This reduces redundant work and cross-cutting deliverables satisfy the needs of dependent activities. UNICO has been key to developing new tools enabling the integration of workstreams and providing visibility to program interfaces and their status. The tools and integration support that UNICO provides has helped to surface project issues and identification of resolutions, allowing the program to continue apace while minimizing rework.
