We’ve found that when we can bring our authentic selves to work, we all thrive. Here are just a few examples of ways we build that connectedness:

• Monthly birthday celebrations that include employees from each office. We create a birthday trivia contest about the people who have birthdays that particular month so we can get to know them better. It tends to spark some lively conversations!
• Employees across the organization are randomly paired together monthly and encouraged to set aside time to get together (whether in-person or virtually) for about 15-20 minutes just to chat. Employees from different departments and locations who don’t normally have a chance to interact get a chance to get to know each other.
• Our “Lunch with the President” program provides a randomly select employee to have lunch with our President every month. This gives employees a chance to talk one-on-one with the leader of the company and gives the President another avenue to connect with employees.
• We host two annual events to bring together everyone in the company and their guests. We hold a picnic or other fun activity in the Summer and an end-of-the year party every year.
• We have a Teams channel solely dedicated to providing each other with kudos, thank-you’s, and virtual high-fives. Appreciation feels good, and it provides that sense of teamwork and “we’re all in this together” culture that we crave.
